I'd like to state the fact that Green Day released "American Idiot" BEFORE Bush was re-relceted.
-or a day spent wasted on pot
Dude, man, yesterday I was like soooo high... totaly green day.
After releasing the album "American Idiot", they gained a great deal of popularity. The album deals with the George Bush era and the Iraq war, as well as being a teenager in disadvantaged areas of America and thus being without prospects for the future.
Their latest album, "21st Century Breakdown", deals with the economic crisis, war and religious fanaticism amongst other themes. Although musically their latest album is not considered to be as strong as "American Idiot", it's lyrics are very advanced.
Green Day are different to many other modern bands in that they sing and play music about the objective world, about relevant issues which affect a lot of people.
"Woah I have liked Green Day since back in the Dookie Days"
Wayne: Why, because their album did well, and they gained a bunch of new fans?
Bruce: Well, the fans are a bunch of tweens that never listened to their old albums.
Wayne: Wow. I didn't know you had to like EVERY album and EVERY song they made in the past to be a fan of their current work. Dipshit.
