Dear editor, this entry does not violate any of the rules on the editor homepage. "Rule 3. Publish opinions. Don't reject an entry just because it's opinionated. Opinions are useful to readers unfamiliar with a topic. Don't reject an entry because you disagree or are offended. Don't reject an entry because you think it's inaccurate." It's not sexist as it's a view which can be held by any gender, doesn't generalise entire groups and citing another's opinion isn't personal approval or promotion. "Rule 2. Generally, "misandry" refers to the hatred and oppression of men on a genotypic basis.

As sociologist Allan Johnson notes, "misandry" has no place in a male-identified, male-centered world. Moreover, Johnson states: “And it takes almost no criticism at all in order for men to feel "bashed," like it's "open season on men." In fact, just saying "male privilege" or "patriarchy" can start eyes rolling and evoke that exasperated sense of "Here we go again.” (Allan Johnson, “Privilege, power and difference,” p. 197) "Accusations of male bashing and man hating work to discredit feminism because people often confuse men as individuals with men as a dominant and privileged category of people. Given the reality of women's oppression, male privilege, and some men's enforcement of both, it's hardly surprising that EVERY woman should have moments when she resents or even "hates" men.” (Allan Johnson, "The gender knot," p. 107
“Both movements (white supremacists and male supremacists) attack women and people of color for playing the victim card because they see white men as the real victims. (Michael Kimmel, "Privilege: A reader," p. 325)

The slightest deviation from male and white centeredness is perceived as a profound loss of privilege. This is why with each tiny step that women and minorities take toward equality, the outcry of white and male supremacists about how "oppressed" white men are has been getting louder.

The conservative backlash is in overdrive to protect their illegitimate, unethical, hierarchal system of privilege. Many White heterosexual men feel "oppressed" and rave about the mythic "misandry."

Misandry ( /mɪˈsændri/) is the hatred or dislike of men or boys. Misandry comes from Greek misos (μῖσος, "hatred") and anēr, andros (ἀνήρ, gen. ἀνδρός; "man"). Misandry is the antonym of philandry, the fondness towards men, love, or admiration of them. The term misogyny is the equivalent term for women.

Like misogyny, it's a word, and as such it can be used even if the circumstances don't require it.
Just like misogyny, misandry is wrong. And two wrongs don't make a right.

We can't deny that this society has serious issues with women, but misandry will only make the Man only more convinced of what he's doing.

A hatred of men and boys by their nature, due to the low self-esteem of women who could not get better jobs because they do not like dangerous or inconvenient jobs.

Noun, pronounced Mis-an-dree

Misandry is the hatred of men. Misandry comes from Greek misos (μῖσος, "hatred") and anēr, andros (ἀνήρ, gen. ἀνδρός; "man"). It is comparable to misogyny, which is the hatred of women. Its antonym is philandry, the word for the love of men. A person (man or woman) who hates men is called a Misandrist. The adjective form of this word is Misandric, describing a person, place, thing, or argument that hates men.

The existence of misandry is often scorned by feminists who claim that Misandry cannot exist because of Male Privilege and the Patriarchy. These feminists either claim that no <u>real</u> feminists are Misandric (a No-True-Scotsman logical fallacy) or that because the Patriarchy is in control and therefore all women are oppressed women are incapable of misandry. These feminists then say that even if there were Misandrists that it wouldn't matter because of the Patriarchy. They also say that apparently no woman is capable of hating men (being a Misandrist) as badly as men hate women (are misogynistic). Often These feminists are right next to other feminists who say that all men are rapists (<i>“All men are rapists and that’s all they are”</i> — Marilyn French)and call for their violent torture and death. (<i>“I want to see a man beaten to a bloody pulp with a high-heel shoved in his mouth, like an apple in the mouth of a pig.”</i> — Andrea Dworkin)
"Misandry is a term referring to hatred or contempt for men. A neologism formed analogous to misogyny (hatred or contempt for women), it was first used widely in the 1970s in response to perceived hatreds within the feminist movement. " -RationalWiki

"saying that all men are rapists and calling for their balls to be hacked off isn't really 'man-hating'. It's just 'ironic misandry'." -Femnist activist
